Hay muchas razones por las que el médico puede recomendar que se extirpe el útero. Esta eliminación puede implicar, entre otros síntomas, una gran inestabilidad en el resto de órganos pélvicos que puede contrarrestarse con un programa de rehabilitación de suelo pélvico. Toma nota si es tu caso.

La histerectomía provoca la eliminación de un órgano en el interior de la pelvis, en concreto del útero. Si has pasado por ello o estás apunto de hacerlo, atenta porque puede implicar efectos directos sobre los otros órganos pélvicos. Para que nos hagamos una idea, útero, vejiga y recto están colocados como si fueran piezas de un puzzle en el interior, cada uno ocupa un espacio que se acopla con el de los demás, lo que les da una gran estabilidad.

Cuando por una razón de peso hay que eliminar el útero o parte de él, esa estabilidad se encuentra amenazada y surge el riesgo de que alguna de las restantes piezas caiga y aparezcan prolapsos de vejiga o de recto.

La histerectomía puede provocar una gran inestabilidad en otros órganos pélvicos, fortalecer el suelo pélvico puede reducir este problema

A pesar de que las cirugías han mejorado mucho para evitarlo, en los últimos años también se está evaluando la posibilidad de añadir un programa de fisioterapia antes y después de la cirugía, con la finalidad de que además de conseguir una mayor estabilidad en la pelvis se consiga reducir los síntomas que puedan presentarse tras la operación.

Aumentar la sujeción del suelo pélvico

El objetivo de la fisioterapia en una histerectomía es aumentar el soporte de todos los órganos a través del fortalecimiento de los músculos y del engrosamiento de sus fibras. Los programas de rehabilitación en estos casos consisten en ejercicios de suelo pélvico de máxima intensidad, realizados durante pocos segundos y también con pocos segundos de descanso.

Se pueden realizar tres series de 8 a 10 contracciones de suelo pélvico y repetirlas tres veces al día. Es muy importante descansar entre cada serie al menos 50 segundos ya que necesitamos que el músculo se recupere y que la contracción sea máxima durante la serie siguiente.

Los programas tienen que tener una duración mínima de 12 semanas y una vez finalizado el programa es importante que incorporemos a nuestra rutina diaria las contracciones de suelo pélvico cada vez que hagamos algo que produzca un aumento de presión en el abdomen. Por ejemplo, al cargar un peso, al estornudar o al toser.

Si somos capaces de integrar la contracción de suelo pélvico en estas situaciones conseguiremos activar estos músculos de forma regular y además protegeremos los órganos para que no desciendan como consecuencia de la presión.

Consulta con tu médico si un programa de rehabilitación te vendría bien. Mientras refuerzas el tono del suelo pélvico, la inestabilidad interior también puede provocar que tengamos pérdidas de orina.
