Con la menopausia y la aparición de pérdidas de orina, podemos sufrir cistitis con mayor habitualidad. Es decir, la incontinencia puede generar cistitis y la cistitis, incontinencia. Te damos algunas pautas para prevenir este círculo.

Es una de las molestias más comunes y frecuentes en las mujeres. La cistitis o infección de orina no solo nos repercute en tener que acudir repetidamente al baño, también nos genera molestias, escozor, dolor al orinar y podemos sufrir escapes al realizar algún esfuerzo, al estornudar o al toser.

¿Por qué tengo cistitis?

Los hombres tienen el conducto de la uretra más largo y más alejado de las bacterias del exterior, que son las que causan la infección. En verano podemos sufrirla con más frecuencia por la humedad en la zona genital, ya sea por la sudoración o por utilizar los baños de piscinas y playas.

Pero si tu caso es que has llegado a determinada edad, debes saber que las visitas al médico por cistitis se incrementan en mujeres con menopausia. En muchos de esos casos, la menopausia conlleva la aparición de problemas de incontinencia, y estas pérdidas de orina favorecen que surja la Escherichia coli, la bacteria más común causante de la cistitis.

¿Cómo puedo prevenir la cistitis?

Los hábitos de higiene y la alimentación son dos claves necesarias que pueden ayudar a prevenir la cistitis. Sea cual sea tu caso, tanto si sufres incontinencia como si no, estos son los mejores hábitos que podemos llevar a cabo contra la cistitis. También en la menopausia.

  • Beber como mínimo un litro y medio de agua al día, evitar bebidas alcohólicas y el tabaco. Ten en cuenta que si tienes problemas de incontinencia no debes tener miedo a beber agua, ya que ayudará a que no se acumulen bacterias en la zona genital, lo que reduce el riesgo de sufrir la infección.
  • Lavarse y secarse la zona genital de adelante hacia atrás. Un elevado porcentaje de las infecciones de orina vienen provocadas por las bacterias que van desde el ano a la vagina. Mantener la zona limpia y hacerlo en el sentido que hemos indicado, previene la aparición de la cistitis.
  • El zumo de limón y los arándanos. Estos alimentos son tus mejores aliados para no sufrir infección de orina, pues contienen un componente que actúa como antiséptico natural.

Es realmente importante que tengas en cuenta que esto solo son consejos de prevención, no curan la cistitis. Si crees que tienes infección de orina, debes acudir a tu médico y seguir sus indicaciones, en ningún caso debes automedicarte.

Yo también padezco cistitis y perdidas de orina .Desafortunadamente son dos problemas muy difíciles de controlar y muy molestos porque su repetición y sus molestias influyen en la calidad de vida de las que los padecemos. También económicamente suponen una carga puesto que hay que usar compresas y braguitas para pérdidas. Las braguitas reciben ayuda por SS pero ni ocurre así con las compresas. Ni podrían hacer precios especiales o algún descuento especial a las incontinencias diagnosticadas? Sería un alivio para las consumidoras. Muchas gracias por su atención. Un saludo.
